Norwood Press Features Grant Blackwood!
Grant Blackwood caught the writing bug while reading Clive Cussler's The Mediterranean Caper and spent the next four years working in different styles of fiction before setting on novel-length work.
Grant is a U.S. Navy veteran, having spent three years on active duty aboard the guided missile frigate USS Ford as an Operations Specialist and and Pilot Rescue Swimmer. Two months after leaving the Navy, Grant started the first draft of his first novel, which, as he puts it, "wasn't good enough to be published but good enough to earn a spot in my sock drawer".
Twelve years to the day after leaving the Navy, Grant received an offer from Putnam to acquire his debut novel, The End of Enemies, which was chosen as a finalist nominee for the 2002 Minnesota Book Award in Popular Fiction.
His eagerly-anticipated second Briggs Tanner novel, The Wall of Night, hit the book stands in March of 2002, and his third novel, An Echo of War, came out in July of 2003. Grant's short story, "Sacrificial Lion", appeared in the acclaimed anthology Thriller: Stories to Keep You Up All Night, published by Mira books in June of 2006. In the past, Grant has teamed up with authors Tom Clancy, Clive Cussler and James Rollins to release other great thrillers.
Grant lives in Colorado where he is working on his standalone series starring a new hero.
